California Poppy Extract
Argemon chicolote
(Prickly poppy)
This plant is native to Mexico, the
West Indies, Southern and Western United States, and has been naturalized
in Brazil, Hindustan, Africa, and other subtropical and tropical places.
The seeds of this plant yield a large quantity of a pale-yellow latex
ooze. The latex is considered to have mildly euphoric properties. It has
also been used as a
smudging herb. |

Sassafras
(Sassafras albidium)
The original true flavor of root beer,
American Indians used an infusion of sassafras root to bring down a fever.
They also smoked, in a pipe, the root bark, which is highly aromatic and
inebriating. Available in cut and sifted root bark, powdered root bark,
and powdered leaf.

California Poppy is
a relative
of Opium poppy but contains no
opiate
alkaloids, and is not addictive.
It has been used to help calm nerves, aid insomnia, reduce anxiety and
relieve pain. It is
considered to be an
anti-anxiety sedative and has been shown to positively effect attention
deficit disorder.
It can be smoked or used in a tea and has a
